i braved the snow last nite & headed into the Ditch for the
Wooden Toy Quarterly mag launch @ Concrete Hermit >> ironic that it was freezin'outside ( -8 ) & like an oven inside ! rammed all nite, with free pear cider ( not the best booze to warm the cockles, but free nevertheless ! ) Timba & crew did a good job turnin' the tiny space into a show that appealed to art, design & illustration fiends alike. as the UK launch focused on issue 7 : the Music Edition most of the stuff on display was music based - my faves included
Waste's Simon Sez spinny 12" tingy & Short's black & white picture discs :
the mag itself is a nice meaty read >> design-heavy & full of tight illo's, photography, interviews & all sorts of creative culture... the card packaging is lush too ! big-ups to
Al Wardle & Norm ( from Waste ) for the hang time too : gud times, well apart from the 3 cancelled trains & the stinky tramp on the freezin' bus ride home !
