Robotboy live in Madrid - One week only - part 2

We paid a worthy visit to the Museo Americas in Madrid and were rewarded with some amazingly contemporary-looking characters from Peru, the Incas and Mexico. Unfortunately I can't offer any accompanying text to fill you in on their back stories so you'll have to make up your own. The figurative work struck some really cool poses. Dunno who this guy is but likin' his perforated square head. Bit of a Mechtorian vibe to this awesome little piece. Probably only about a thousand years old and formed from purest gold. Early prototype of C3PO.... These beautifully carved pieces of turquoise were like M.U.S.C.L.E.S. Collectible toys were evidently all the rage in ancient civilisations... Incas communicated via wooden mobile phones. Just like us. There was an installation of numerous pages from this Inca book, kind of like heiroglyphics and detailing their pictorial language. Like a sketched-in Moleskin and really contemporary in appearance, plus ca change. Innit. I think this pic might be upside down. That will add to your feeling of triumph as you translate it by turning it the right way up. More olde worlde delights on flickr.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/10919589@N00/sets/72157615844882260/
